Frame Size Guide

All glasses have number digits printed on the inside part of the temple arm of the frame. These numbers are the lens width, bridge width, and the length of your glasses’ temple arm.

We recommend you to compare the measurements of your current glasses to the measurements of the frames we have on our website. If you find your current glasses don’t fit very well, please consider choosing smaller or larger sizes for your new frames.

Pupillary Distance

Pupillary distance, or PD, is the distance measured in millimetres between the pupils of your eyes. Pupillary distance is needed when buying glasses online and is a key measurement that we use for making a perfect prescription glasses.

Understanding my prescription

SPH or Spherical Number:

This shows the strength of the lenses needed to correct your vision, and represents how short or far-sightered you are. If the SPH number is listed with a negative (-) symbol, that means that the lens is correcting for near-sightedness, whereas a positive (+) symbol indicates a prescription for farsightedness. If you don’t have vision distance problem, the SPH value would be zero “0” or is noted by Pl or Plano.

CYL or Cylinder Number:

Indicates a correction for astigmatism. It is usually a number between -4.0 and +4.0. Astigmatism distorts both your near and far vision and is caused by your eye being shaped more like a rugby ball than a football. If you don’t have astigmatism, boxes under CYL and Axis will be empty.

Axis:

This indicates the angle (in degrees) of the cylinder. This is defined with a number from 1 to 180.

ADD:

Stands for the additional lens powers needed for reading prescriptions, bifocals or progressive lenses, and to correct presbyopia.

Prism:

This is used for some people with diplopia or double vision caused by an imbalanced musvcle in your eye. It is unlikely to see this box is filled.

Base

This simply shows where to put the prism in your lens. This box is usually empty.
